Chronicles of a N00B! Part 2

The site you see before you is not the original “AceMan’s World”. I used to have an entertainment site instead of a blog. But that’s the heart of the story……..

Upset, but not defeated, I began to enter the world of cyberspace on my own. A little uneasy at first, but I managed to start up a small Comedy/Bizarre/Entertainment/ type site. (It was pretty cool actually, if I do say so myself). I wish I had taken some screen shots of it in hind-site. It got a good bit of traffic, folks would sign the guest page & stuff, but it paled in comparison to the POWER of a GOOD forum. Little did I know.

I worked on my site relentlessly, always adding this and tweaking that. (If you own a site, you know what I’m talking about.) I kept it up almost daily, changing out videos and news stories to keep things current. I was proud.

Then one day I decided to go see my old friend, Ralph on the crazy ass forum again. I was not banned anymore, I was an active member at that point. I could talk to them again, I could engage with them again. But I was still cautious. These were the masters of the mind fuck, if you know what I mean.

Now, I’m gonna say this now, before you folks think I’m retarded as a football bat.I am married with children, have a normal life, a good job, and 3 wonderful GROWN kids. LOL!

Now, This female Admin on the site, had a big time problem with me for some reason (in hind-site, I think I called her fat, my bad) but she really had it out for me. Now, I am not gay. As I’ve said before, I am happily married. She would play pranks such as change my username to something gay, or give me a gay avatar, or just plain out insult me on a personal level. Which is something I don’t take lightly too.

I can take a joke just as well as I can dish it out, gay pranks were not unusual on that site, but she dug into my family history and personally insulted me publicly, online. Don’t dig into my personal life. That is mine, and mine alone. Not to be twisted and tainted by some malevolent, snot nosed, rhinoceros! I’m not kidding folks, this girl looked like Peter Griffin off of Family Guy. Anyone can make fun of my looks and I won’t care, I am who I am. I ain’t pretty, hell, my wife will tell you that. But some folks just cant handle the truth.

Anyhoo.. We went at it for a while. I got along great with other folks on the site and jived back and forth with them, every thing was cool. I had my site, my buddy had his, and then I realized something. IT WAS MY BUDDY’S SITE. He had some girl he had only met online as his admin, and he let her ban me. He never said a word. And when I asked him about it, naturally, he acted stupid. “I don’t know who did that” is what he said.

Now, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck……….

Chronicles of a N00B!

This is semi-fictional story, if you will, that happenened between two websites in a cyberspace…… far, far away.

You see, it all started a long time ago, I sent a friend of mine an e-mail. An e-mail that I never knew where it would take me!

I want to go back to the beginning.

“Hello, Ralph” , I said , “Long Time No See! Hope you contact me soon!”

Well, I waited & I waited, and then one day, He replied! I was excited! He told me that he had just joined a new website, (I can’t say the name for obvoius reasons)I was intruiged! “What is it?” I asked, curiousity taking over at this point.

He told me.  I joined….. He taught me the way…. He showed me how to post, how to act, how to be “Internet Savvy”.

Eventually, the site he was on turned sour on him. They rejected him. They forced him to form his own site! They turned sour on me, as I, too, was eventually banned.

By now, I hope you’re realizing that I’m talking about Forums. If not, a forum is where one goes to react with other people on the internet. These existed way before Facebook,  just in case you’re younger than 25. But, forums are way more exclusive. They have distinct genres. This one in particular had a gross genre, but I digress…..

My friend started a new forum, all his own…, It had everything you could want out of a forum, and members started piling in.  He just didn’t expect where this was going at the time but, (I really think he knew)………

It wasn’t long before people were posting porno pics all over the place, and insulting each other like they loved the abuse, (In hindsight, They really did, and so did I in a way).  As soon as I spoke out about the abuse, saying,” Hey, Ya’ll ought not to be like that!”,  I was ridiculed, I was no longer a part of the loop. He had this Administrator that was a real BITCH!! I really hated this chick.

She really Influenced my friend in a lot of ways that I didn’t like. Ways that left me alone, all alone, in a world I had not yet understood. Eventually, they banned me too. That really hurt in a lot of ways, but I was relieved. I was free. Free to start my own chapter! ……………….

Obama Administration Unveils Internet ID Plan

Just another way of “Big Brother” invading and keeping track of our personal lives. Where will it all end?

(A screenshot of the website for the National Strategy on Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, which aims to create online IDs that will boost privacy and security online.)

The Commerce Dept. unveiled a plan Friday to create a national cyber-identity system that would give consumers who opt in a single secure password and identity for all their digital transactions.

The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) will be a voluntary system designed to protect consumers from online fraud and identity theft — which hit 8.1 million people last year, at a total cost of $27 billion. The problem: The current system of half-remembered passwords jotted down on post-it notes and based on pets and maiden names simply isn’t good enough.

“Passwords just won’t cut it here,” said Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, who announced the initiative at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “We must do more to help consumers protect themselves, and we must make it more convenient than remembering dozens of passwords,” he said.

The “identity ecosystem” will create secure online IDs for Americans who elect to join the program, giving them a single credential — such as a unique piece of software on a smart phone, a smart card, or a token that generates a one-time digital password — which they can use to log on to a variety of websites.

Instead of having to remember all those disparate passwords, one for each site that conducts a secure transaction, a consumer would use that single credential to log in, with far more security than a password alone would provide, the agency said.

Ol’ Mark Zuckerberg Is Da Man!

Winklevoss Twins Lose Legal War With Facebook!

The billionaire’s battle over the founding of Facebook is finally over.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Monday that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss — the former Harvard University classmates of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg — can’t undo their settlement over the social networking site. The appeals court ruled that the twins were savvy enough to understand what they were agreeing to when they signed the agreement in 2008, a deal that called for a $20 million cash payment and a partial ownership of Facebook.

“At some point, litigation must come to an end,” chief justice Alex Kozinksi wrote for the unanimous three-judge panel. “That point has now been reached.”

A third classmate, Divya Narendra, was part of the settlement with the twins but did not pursue the second lawsuit seeking to undo the agreement.

The twins had alleged they were misled about Facebook’s value when they agreed to settle their lawsuit that claimed Zuckerberg stole their idea to launch Facebook.

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss were famously portrayed by Armie Hammer in The Social Network, a Hollywood blockbuster that dramatized the events surrounding the founding of the massive social network.

The original case was brought against Facebook in 2004 when the brothers claimed that Zuckerberg broke an oral contract with the plaintiffs to create ConnectU (originally dubbed the Harvard Connection). The twins alleged that Zuckerberg not only stole the code and the idea, he stalled them them so he could get his site, thefacebook.com, out first.

ACTUAL AUSTRALIAN COURT DOCKET 12659 —

A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus.

She noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her.

She immediately moved to another seat.

This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again.

The man seemed more amused.

When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing,

she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.

The case came up in court.

The judge asked the man (about 20 years old)

what he had to say for himself.

The man replied,

‘Well your Honor, it was like this:

when the lady got on the bus,

I couldn’t help but notice her condition.

She sat down under a sign that said,

‘The Double Mint Twins are coming’ and I grinned.

Then she moved and sat under a sign that said,

‘Logan’s Liniment will reduce the swelling,’ and I had to smile.

Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that said,

‘William’s Big Stick Did the Trick,’ and I could hardly contain myself.

But, Your Honor, when she moved the fourth time

and sat under a sign that said,

‘Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident!’

… I just lost it.’

‘CASE DISMISSED!!’

Midnight Oil

Midnight Oil. These guys had a cause and a purpose. As a matter of fact, It did raise awareness of the Aborigines’ Turmoil and they were eventually freed to roam the land.
